"Sun Valley Ski Ed is crushing it."

Prodigy met potential Thursday, as Chase Josey claimed the silver medal in men's snowboard halfpipe at the Revolution Tour at Northstar at Tahoe, California.
The 16-year-old Community School junior scored 77.2 points to finish second to Joseph Mensch, who garnered 90.5 points out of 100. SVSEF teammate Ryan Roemer, a Wood River High School junior, finished sixth overall. scoring 73.2.
"It is by far Chase's biggest result," SVSEF Snowboard Program Director Andy Gilbert said. "Both he and Ryan stamped their way into the finals, too."
Competing in separate heats, Roemer (87.5) finished second with the fourth-highest score of the day and Josey (84.7) was third with the fifth. The top ten finals finishes came on the heels of Ben Parker's third in men's skier halfpipe at the Revolution Tour on Tuesday.
"SVSEF athletes are just crushing it and getting a lot of recognition," Gilbert said. "Coach Josh Keefer is there with those guys and he deserves a ton of credit with how they finished, including the girls."
In women's halfpipe, SVSEF athletes Ali Appleton and Josie Bunce were 11th and 14th, respectively.
Bunce was the top SVSEF finisher in slopestyle in 21st place in the women's division. In the men's competition, Josey was 74th and Roemer 80th.
In its eighth year, the Revolution Tour is a proving ground for up-and-coming athletes looking for a chance to compete against their peers on the national stage. The next stop on the 2012 Tour is Otsego, Michigan, Jan. 29-Feb. 3.
