1/11/2012
Freeskiing halfpipe was the opening event Tuesday at the 2012 Revolution Tour at Northstar at Tahoe, California.
SVSEF's Ben Parker skied to third place overall, scoring a 78.7 on his first run. With the podium placement, Parker earned an automatic berth in the next Grand Prix event (Mammoth Mountain-February), which is freestyle's World Cup.
Trevor Hattabaugh made the finals in his second consecutive Rev Tour appearance, finishing 11th overall. Teammate Timo Gould placed 25th in his first-ever halfpipe competition and Perry Boyle was 31st in a field of 37 finishers. Unfortunately, River Kelly suffered a concussion and had to withdraw.
The crew is tackling men's skier slopestyle today. Snowboard events are on tap tomorrow and Friday. SVSEF's Ali Appleton, Josie Bunce, Chase Josey, and Ryan Roemer will compete.
