Dr. Keith Henschen, a noted sports psychologist, will speak this weekend on topics related to what he calls "Mental Strength Training."
Dr. Henschen, a professor at University of Utah for 39 years, as well as a sport psychology consultant for six different Olympic teams and the Utah Jazz, will offer three sessions geared for different user groups: athletes, coaches and parents.
Athletes can attend Dr. Henschen's lecture on Saturday, December 8, from 3:30-5 p.m. The coaches' session is from 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday. Parents can attend Dr. Henchen's lecture on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 10:30-12:30 p.m. All sessions are free, courtesy of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation, and will held at the Community School auditorium.
Dr. Henschen's area of expertise is the Psychosocial Aspect of Sport with research interests in the psychology of performance, use of psychological inventions in sport, and sport psychology for special populations. He has published more then 200 articles, 38 chapters of books and co-authored five textbooks. As well, he is noted conference speaker with more than 500 presentations to his credit.
