Farrow earns berth on U.S. Alpine Ski Team
June 13, 2012
The letter reads, "Congratulations on your outstanding results this past season! Your performance has earned you a nomination to the U.S. Development Ski Team."
And so on June 12, Tanner Farrow learned he had been invited to join the ranks of the U.S. Ski Team once again.
The 19-year-old Farrow, a member of the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation since 2001, is a four-event threat. In 42 races since January 2012, Farrow posted six top-10 results in FIS-level racing with a fourth in downhill and fifth in super G. In the U.S. National Championships at Winter Park, Colorado, Farrow was 22nd in super G, and 29th in slalom.
"It was tough," Farrow said. "You are way down on the start list but it was a great experience."
Farrow will reside in Utah this summer, train with the U.S. team and attend school at Westminster College, according to SVSEF Alpine Director Ruben Macaya.
