Competition Team: The Comp Team is a year round program for freestyle athletes 13 and older. Younger athletes are permitted at coaches' discretion. Athletes are eligible for summer camps, a gym membership, trampoline and foam pit training. We compete in the Intermountain Division of USSA with travel to other divisions for interdivisional events. Athletes compete in all disciplines of USSA Freestyle which are moguls, dual moguls, half pipe, slope style and aerials. Training begins in early summer with ski camps, gym sessions, water ramp camps and trampoline/foam pit workouts. Winter training takes place 6 days per week after school and on weekends. Comp Team athletes have the opportunity to travel in the vans and compete in the disciplines of their choice. Locker facilities with ski tuning area are provided in the Engl Training Center. Academic support is available through the Academic Center.
Prep Team
10-14yr old (3-4 years experience): The purpose of the S.V. Freestyle Prep team is to provide young athletes with the opportunities to experience skiing with a more focused approach. Summer and winter training schedules increase as well as competition schedules. Prep team is divided into two groups A and B. Group placement determined by age, ability and coach’s discretion only. The prep team allows the athlete to consider “What could be?” This is a transition team which prepares athletes for the comp team while still enjoying skiing recreationally with friends.
