Freestyle Comp and Prep Coaching Staff


  Andy Ware, Freestyle Program Director
Andy has been skiing for 25 years and coaching with SVSEF for the past 11 years. He is a USSA level 2 aerials and moguls coach and has helped coach five Junior National champions, two mogul champions and three halfpipe champs. His hometown is Boise, Idaho, and he attended to the University of Idaho. He is married to Annelies Ware and they have a 5-year-old daughter, Tatum. In the off season, Andy is General Manager of Alpine Tree Service. He likes to take gnarly mountain bike rides, water ski, hike and camp. You might not know that Andy also enjoys climbing 60 foot trees with his chain saw.

  Joey Cordeau, Comp Team Head Mogul Coach
Four time World Mogul Skiing Champion, Joey has been coaching for 20 years and with SVSEF 2 years. A native of Biddeford, ME,  he also works as a painting contractor. Joey enjoys water skiing, talking really, really fast and beating everybody down Upper River Run. Unless you've been on ski trips with Joey, you might not know that he is also an extreme morning person.

  Christine Cordeau, Prep Team Assistant Coach

Born and raised in Sun Valley, Christine has skied in Nationals, Nor Ams and Selections events. She has also competed in Skier-Cross World Cups. She works for the Ketchum Flower Company and likes to water ski, hike and cook. This is her second year coaching for SVSEF.

  Ben Verge, Pipe and Park Head Coach
Lane Parrish super combined champ for 2009 and Ketchum native, Ben has been coaching with SVSEF for 4 years. He also works as a carpenter and likes to skateboard.  You might not have noticed, but Ben regularly switches between skis and snowboard.

  Kurtis Fieguth, Assistant Coach - Moguls, Park and Pipe
Kurtis has been competing in mogul events for 15 years; 12 with SVSEF and the last 3 in Park City.  He is a Hailey local and also works in construction. This is his second year coaching for the freestyle team and continues to compete in Nor-Ams. When he is not skiing, Kurtis enjoys hunting, fishing, kayaking and water skiing.

Clint Lightner

Clint lists his hometown as Denver / Breckenridge, CO.  He earned a B.A. in Economics and Geography from the University of Washington. He and his wife, Carrie, have two children - Maya, age 4 and Tessa, age 1. His ski racing career includes USSA Alpine racing 1987 - 2002, FIS Alpine racing 1998 - 2002 and US Open Skiercross 1999 - 2002. After coaching for the Hailey Ski Team from 1996 to 1998 he was was C Team Home coach for SVSEF in 2001 - 2002. Other jobs are general contractor and licensed broker telecommunications. Clint likes to keep busy with mountain biking, AMA motocross, golf, climbing, hiking, fishing, snowboarding, skate skiing and skate boarding. You might not know that Clint was a three time Leifs Race Champion in 1997, 1998, 1999.
