Cross Country

Comp Team:  This is a year round program that helps skiers in the J2, J1 and OJ classes (ages 14-18 – high school) develop racing skills and fitness.  Participants receive year round coaching with regular training beginning in May and including frequent summer training camps.  Team members are expected to compete in Junior National Qualifier events and have many opportunities to travel with the team in vans to competitions throughout the West and to compete at the highest national events.  On-snow training sessions are held 5-6 days per week starting when the snow arrives.  Locker and waxing facilities provided at the Lake Creek Hut.  

Prep Team: This program is designed to introduce younger skiers in the J3-J4 classes (ages 10-13) to racing and training, while continuing to improve ski technique and general on-ski skills. In addition to track skiing, skiers on Prep Team can look forward to telemark skiing, backcountry skiing and overnight yurt trips.  There are also opportunities to compete in local events and to travel with parents to some competitions.  Fall dryland begins in October, with practices running on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through mid March.  Locker and waxing facilities provided at the Lake Creek Hut.

Devo Team: This is a fun youth program for children 2nd - 5th grade at the Lake Creek and Quigley training facilities.  Skiers learn the basics of cross country skiing, both classic and skate with an emphasis on helping kids develop good technique.  Fall dryland begins in November and runs two days per week.  On snow training two days per week December through early March and locker storage provided at Lake Creek or Quigley.  Lake Creek Team meets Mondays and Wednesdays, Quigley Team meets Tuesdays and Thursdays.
