Baldy Hill Climb

The 32nd Annual 2010 Baldy Hill Climb will include hiking and mountain biking events on Saturday, September 25th. The “Cheeso Baldy Double”, named in honor of late coach Craig "Cheeso" Kjesbo, features a mountain bike race to the top followed by a hiking race to the top! You must finish the mnt. bike race by 10:30 if you are signed up for the Double! (No race day sign-up for the Cheeso Baldy Double). The traditional hike to the summit will ascend the Warm Springs side of Bald Mountain with the recreational class starting at 10:00 am and the racing class starting at 11:00 am. Mountain Bikers will ascend the Cold Springs Perimeter Trail with a start from St. Luke’s Hospital at 8:30 AM. The traditional children’s event – The KINDERCLIMB, for children aged 11 and younger will be held at 9:30 am in Warm Springs. 

Participants are encouraged to pre-register on line at Spondoro.com.  Forms will also be available at local stores including Sturtevant’s in Ketchum and Hailey, The Elephant’s Perch and Backwoods Mountain Sports. Register early to avoid an extra charge. Again, NO RACE DAY SIGN-UP FOR THE BALDY DOUBLE - YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE!

KinderClimb Free

All participants will receive a T-Shirt, Summit Aid Station, Lift Service (DOWNLOAD ONLY, NO BIKES) and an Awards Party at Apple's Bar and Grill following the Event.

Lift Service will be open (weather dependent) from 10 am to 1 pm for DOWNLOAD ONLY. No Bikes!

Friday, September 24th - pre-registration open until 5pm at SVSEF offices and local stores

Saturday, September 25th

7:30-8:00 am: Race Day Registration for Mountain Bike Race and bib pick for Cheeso Baldy Double at St. Luke's Parking Lot (2 miles S. of Ketchum)

8:30 - 10:30 am: Race Day Registration for Hike and Running Race at SVSEF Offices (215 Picabo Street) Warm Springs

8:30 am - Start of Mountain Bike/Cheeso Double - up Baldy Perimeter Trail (Coldsprings to the Top)

9:30 am - Start of KinderClimb - 300 vertical feet up Warm Springs, 11 and under, everyone gets a ribbon, just show up!

12:30 - 2:00 - Awards Party at Apple's (base of Warm Springs)


Cheeso's Baldy Double: Mountain bike race starts at 8:30 AM. You must finish the mountain bike portion by 10:30 to download in time for the start of the hike. We will transport a bag from the start of the bike to the start of the hike for you
